Interventional Radiology (IR) is a medical specialty that uses imaging techniques such as X-ray, CT scans, ultrasound, and MRI to guide minimally invasive procedures. These procedures are often performed to treat a wide range of medical conditions, many of which traditionally required open surgery. Interventional radiologists use these advanced imaging technologies to insert instruments into the body through small incisions (or no incisions at all), allowing for faster recovery, less pain, and a reduced risk of complications.
